Unique Birds of Aotearoa
Unique birds, such as the royal spoonbill, whio ducks, kārearea, tīeke, hihi, and other lesser-known endemic species are part of NZ’s treasured taonga. Watercolours are a great medium for depicting their delicate forms and feathers, along with a soft focus background environment. Once you have created your painting of an iconic and unique native bird, you’ll be “looking with fresh eyes” to spot these taonga flying about in their natural habitats!
